Club Activities

The club owns and operates three repeaters:

  • WØSOE 146.82 MHz in Hutchinson
  • WØUUS 146.85 MHz in Derby
  • WØSOE 146.79 MHz in Wichita.

The Wichita Amateur Radio Club meets quarterly at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of the meeting month. Meetings are held at the Salvation Army Building located at 350 N. Market, Wichita, Kansas. The business meeting  starts at 7:00 pm.

The Club publishes a newsletter (the Grounded Grid) and a web site to keep the membership informed. The club also provides the area with an on the air net every Sunday evening at 8:00 pm on the 146.79 repeater.

In June every year, the Club participates in the ARRL Field Day. This is a good opportunity to have a chance to operate on the HF bands even though you might not have those specific operating privileges. This is a family outing for our club, with games, overnight camping, and a picnic as well as the radio operations.

The Club promotes a hamfest or tailgate party each year for the Wichita and South Central Kansas area. Other ham related activities include family picnics, and the installation of officer’s banquet .

WARC has a dedicated group of Officers and Board Members that are willing to listen to your requests for different types of activities and programs. Make your requests known to the Board. Consideration and decisions will be made concerning any new ideas to extend the services of the Club. E-mail addresses for Board Members are listed in the Grounded Grid and are also on the WARC web site. (www.warc1.org)
